Cheesecake Dessert

This past Saturday Jan and I rented some movies and threw some veggies on the grille for dinner. For dessert Jan fixed two packets of cheesecake w/strawberries and (literally) 4 drops of Cointreau. It was awesome tasting and the strawberries were enough to make your mouth water. Try it sometime, I'm sure you cheese cake lovers can come up with other ideas to make your cheesecake dessert as interesting as ours. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Product Introduction

Hi All,

We just received notice from our supplier that they are introducing two new products the week of July 23rd. It's called "Double Bites" and they are offered in two flavors- Original and Cheddar Cheese. As always we will taste test the products to see if they are good tasting and pleasing to the palate. The Double Bites are 130 calories per serving, have 10 grams of hunger satisfying protein, are low in fat and have no (0) cholesterol. From what I have experienced in the food and nutrition business over my career these snacks sound wonderful and in particular the cheese flavored ones. Let's see what they taste like when they arrive and we will report back to you our findings. We will notify you by e-mail and post them on the website when we start to carry them. If you have any questions on any of this call me at the office or on my cell @ 404-931-7838.

New Product

We would like to announce that we are now stocking two new desserts: Cheesecake and Custard Creme w/Toffee bits. They are both excellent and you can ask for one of them as a free sample on your next order. Remember that we send a free sample with each order and you can pick and choose the product (sorry, Fettuccini Alfredo and Mac and Cheese are exceptions) so you may try it to see if you like it before you buy it.

Hey all, I just found the neatest blender at a great price. I was vegging Sunday morning reading the Atlanta Journal Constitution and saw an advertisment for this blender in a store by the name of Aldi. Aldi is a low buck operation that sells brands I've never heard of but their prices are veeeery reasonable. So we decided to go take a look and found this blender to be pretty good quality and it sells for only $ 12.99. Now feature this, you turn the blender upside down and unscrew the lid which is also comes with a cap and serves as the drinking cup. This morning I turned the blender upside down, unscrewed the cup, filled it with the required amount of water, dropped in a Creamy Vanilla Shake with some frozen mixed fruit, screwed it back on, turned it right side up and hit the button for about 15 seconds and presto I had a great shake. I unplugged it, turned it upside down, unscrewed the cup portion, put the cap on and flew out the door for my meeting. This little handy blender allowed me to charge the mixer and get the shake ready to go in much less time than it took to write this blog. Oh yea, it also comes with an insulation sleeve so it you don't get condensate on your pinkies while your drinking from it. When I returned from my meeting I rinsed the cup and I'm ready for tomorrow morning. The brand name is Crofton, it comes with a two year warranty and is made exclusively for Aldi Inc., Batavia, IL 60510-1477 Gene C.

The Blender:
The other day I ranted about the blender I just bought and during the rant I gave you erroneous information. At that time I said that it was necessary to turn the blender upside down to remove the cup in order to load it with your favorite Health Management and Nutrition Shake. (shameless commercial) Well I was wrong! Being a guy I did not read the directions and did not realize that the blender has a locking cap that allows you to remove this cap from the main body of the blender and load the cup, attach the cup to the locking cap, place cap onto the blender and hit the switch to power it on and fix your shake. This is much easier and quicker and I've been using my blender since Monday and love it more everyday that goes by. If you happen to buy one, why not test it and give us your feed back on the blog site. I look forward to hearing your comments.

Alli

Tonight I was reading the May issue of Food and Drug Packaging and saw something very interesting. The Food and Drug Administration has given approval for GlaxoSmithKline to sell orlistat (which blocks fat from being absorbed and digested) without a prescription. The pill trade name "alli" is scheduled to be on retail shelves by June. So those of you who might have taken these before and had success with it can now resume this medication if it worked well for you in the past. As always discuss this with your personal physician before resuming this or any other type medication regardless if it's an over the counter med.

Dining Out

Dining out: There are some things you can do to still remain "socially acceptable" when dining out with friends and family. For instance before dining out, try having a healthy snack like our Chocolate Mini Crisps or Pretzel Twists with a glass of calorie-free beverage or water. Our single serve packets of Mini Crisps or Pretzels are specially formulated with 12 grams of protein, 11 grams of which are soy; which will help curb your hunger and help you eat less.
or
Order a cup of soup as an appetizer. A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that people who fill up on soup (broth or tomato based, not cream based) consume about 100 fewer calories during the rest of their meal.
